Despite the rather dicey conditions, this 6th ORC was one of my most memorable. A special thanks to Jammer and the rest of the NWKA admins who spent, I am sure, countless hours organizing the event. Also, thank you to Islandson671, and every one else who contributed to the awesome roast pig feast on Friday night. I am sure Sumpnz learned a few lessons in taking on organizing our Saturday banquet! Thank you Sumpnz, and everyone else who made this wonderful feast happen! Of course, the Ninkasi was an integral part of the festivities on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights! And, this morning, I was surprised to have a very tasty breakfast! Thanks to Doughboy, Jammer, and the rest of you for making this happen. Really, I wasn't expecting this, and really appreciate a great meal before the drive home! Finally, a big congratulations to Bluewrx02 for his 1st place win! The ribs were a big winner too!

+1 on all that has been mentioned.

I Also want to give a big thanks to Mark & Lori  8) 8) 8) for all the time and efforts put into the wood carving and the food dishes.  They were great!

Thanks again to Chinook Bend.  Their hospitality is second to none.  Very accommodating, considering the huge influx of campers that weekend.
PROGRESS IS JUST BEING THERE!

What everybody else has said - thanks to all for making this a great event!  As one of the new guys out there - I really appreciated the extra effort given by so many to keep things safe and pass on the knowledge.

As mentioned previously, that first time through the hole was such a rush - it was amazing being out there.  Now, next time, I'm hoping to get into the fish!

Thanks. This was unexpected as I only started catching after 10am. I finally got a ling so We were drifting back in as I "snagged up" got it loose, then again, got it loose again, then felt the head shakes. I got him up a few feet and he ran and took line twice. Finally got him close to the water as saw that huge head. Lip gripped him and bonked him about 10 times until the shakes started. Bleed, measured 29". I was so tired after, Dino watched as I tried to put him on my game clip and bag about 5 times.

John- I didn't get to introduce myself, but was there when you approached the weigh-in.  Loved how effortlessly "light" your game bag was, until your cab came sliding out - great catch!

Thanks to all...

Thanks to all the organizers and contributors.  I am so glad I made it this year.  What a blast.

The rum however...  That was a bad plan...
I would much rather be up a creek without a paddle than down one.

Jammer told me I could!

Looking back on it, he probably thought I was pointing at one of the stainless water bottles.  Oops, I'm a dick...

At least some good folks got laughs at my expense as I stumbled back to my tent.

Personally I found it pretty funny. And you made out like a bandit. Haha!

Thanks to everyone who made it happen, and everyone who threw down the $40 and brought food to attend ;)  I may have only been out on the water an hour because of technical difficulties (and, well, damn those were big swells were bigger than they looked ;) ... but I had a lot of fun overall and am coming back next year for sure.

Wanted to give a specific shout out to Jake and Erik at Next Adventure.  I got my Revo 11 thinking I needed something small and light enough to easily throw in my SUV or I wouldn't take it out, so the Revo 11 was a perfect choice... but being out in the salt has given a new meaning to kayaking for me, and was really bummed that I didn't go with something bigger, at least the 13.

Talked to Jake at ORC, we worked out a trade in (which was almost unreasonable on their part), so I could get something a little better equipped for the salt.  Him and Erik went down to the warehouse and unpacked it and got it set up on the way back on Sunday so I didn't have to make a separate trip to Portland.

I started my career in customer service, and worked a retail shop for a year... so I'm fairly picky about who I do business with, but I can easily say I'm now a Next Adventure customer for life ;)

PS - even though I didn't win the Outback, that was pretty cool for them to throw down on the prize as well ;)

     AWESOME        AWESOME             AWESOME

  What a great weekend............

Where does a guy start ..........?????????????

A huge thanks to all of our incredible members....we are a force to be reckoned with.

All of the comments I have heard have been so positive. All of the actions I personally saw were positive.
The organization, the volunteer work, the efforts of so many that went above and beyond the call of duty really are impressive. So a tremendous thank-you to all participants.
This event is so much fun, the fellowship with each other is so entertaining, and the camaraderie can't be beat. The many sponsors that have been so generous with prizes and swag and time is really hard to believe. And the tremendous amount of hard work that goes into putting this all together----amazing.....

  Great job NWKA.......
This event is a highlight of the year. Let's all work to make more of this kind of sharing---a reality.

There are a few more get togethers  planned for this year. I will try to attend as many as possible though I probably won't be able to make them all-damhik..........

Again-great job NWKA.....Let's do it some more.
Life is short---live it tall.

She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Sam,  I love to see people come in off the water with a huge smile on their face and catch in hand, so I kept it in the bag because 2 years ago people didn't weigh their fish when they saw mine.  Im just glad most people had a good time.

Like everyone else, Dudi and I had a great time even without weighing in a fish. Big thanks to Michael, Allen, Mark, Brian, All the crew at Next Adventure and anyone else who helped plan the trournament  and to Dino and Andrew for making the killer eats . All the side dishes were delicious!! I even ate one of Pauls mussels on accident and it wasn't so bad(The sauce was excellent)...

Being here with my dude really made this a special weekend for me and i look forward to sharing many more like it in the future. She handled the conditions like a  champ! I'm so proud of you babe.. Luv ya dude!

Congrats to all the winners, which was everybody, i know because my number was second to last to be drawn and there was two prizes left! What a load of prizes!

John, Good job helping the splashed yakker and a big congratulations on your second ORC win! My dogs say congrats too, and thanks for the petting.

Thanks also to Dave for helping our splashed yakker get back in his Kayak. Good job Dave!

Dudi and I are already looking forward to ORC '14!
See ya on the water..
