So last Saturday I cleaned my fish at Webb Park at the fish cleaning station. (finally catching fish  :banjo: ) I was told that if I clean my fish and was gone in 15 min or less then I would not have to pay the $3 dump fee. Is there any other places in PC that is available? This is the same location Jammer, rawkfish & I used last June but this must be a private campground and there charging for this. I guess you don't have to pay this fee if your camping there. Anyone else have this happen to.?  Are there any other locations PC to clean your fish. Thanks for all your help.

I think that you've always been expected to pay the day-use fee to use the fish cleaning station, and it just depends on if they hassle you about it or not.

I'd like to know what alternatives there are as well.

It's $3 and they provide a cutting surface, running water, and a place to dump your fish carcasses.  Heck I usually hose off my gear and truck while I'm at it.  I don't see what the issue is.

Glad to drop the three bucks. It's a nice cleaning area.

I don't see any issue either, but I am curious what the alternatives are, if any.

As a follow-up I'm good with the fee also, was just wanting to know if there are other places as well. So it sounds like everyone else is paying in also.

I think the options are..

1. Take the fish home on ice and clean them there.  This leaves you with lesser quality fish and fish carcasses stinking up your garbage can at home.
2. Bring a cutting board and clean them on your cooler / tail gait and dump the carcasses in the nearest trash can or dumpster that might not get picked up for days.  No business or visitor to a public area wants to smell your dead fish.
3. pay $3 at Webb Park.

I will say that I wish there was better signage about the fee at Webb Park.

It's worth the $3. Also make sure you bring an extra garbage bag for the carcasses before throwing them into the dumpster. Lets continue keeping the peace in PC!

$3 is worth the convenience.  8)

Rawkfish and I cleaned fish there in a bone chilling sideways rain blast in early spring once while camping there.  Almost wanted to take the works over to the shower and finish up in there.  It would be cool to see a covered area over the cleaning station be added.

+1.  Always bag your Carks before tossing them in the dumpster.  Best way to get the host pissed is to toss them in loose.  Plus try to leave the table nicer than you found it.

If you forget the garbage bags, you can always stop by the Cape Kiwanda Marketplace next door and pick some up on your way in (Ziplocs too).  BTDT

The camp host was a little grouchy about informing us of the day use fee for stays longer than 15 minutes, but I bet he had already dealt with a few things by that time (Sunday afternoon) on a busy weekend. A sign stating that policy would be helpful, but it is worth it to pay it.

We talked with him about it earlier this spring. He basically said he really didn't want to push everyone to pay the $3.00 but he was getting a ton of pressure from his boss to do so. I'm sure it sucks to tell every person there to pay up.

A sign posted at the fish cleaning station would reduce his grouch and keep his boss off his back.
