Were any of you out there this morning about 9:45 10:00? I spotted a couple of kayaks that appeared to be out fishing. Just wondering if you did any good. I hope to be out there in the morning.

The WDFW Fish Checker said a reasonable number of silvers, both resident and ocean, are starting to show up in the mix as well.

Wasn't me but I am also planning on hitting the water tomorrow--I need a sanity day before work gets crazy next week.  I was thinking about trying my luck on the Duwamish (south of the 1st ave bridge) rather than Golden Gardens, or maybe Elliott bay since both will be open.  Granted, after the lack of fish on Saturday I have my reservations.  Wherever I go, I probably won't be on the water until fairly late (9:30 maybe?).

Hey CBJ, Were you out at the Duwamish this morning? I was on the "pier" watching for a little bit. No kayak this morning. Nate

I was out Friday after ~9:30.  I left from the Duwamish Waterway Park.  I ended up skunked and am fairly certain that I missed most of the bite--there were a few older gentlemen who were bank fishing (I think) that looked to have at least 6 fish between them, and one of the anglers at the beach said there was someone else there who had caught 15.  That said, there are fish in the river now, fairly regular jumpers, and I saw a few landed.  I just don't know that it's really hot just yet.

This morning the folks fishing were catching fairly consistently but it wasn't super fast action. I went to GG yesterday and end up with one solid take-down then got off the water because of the wind.

I need a grown up fishing kayak!  :(

I was out on the Spokane St bridge this morning. There were probably 30 or 40 fisherman on the bridge.
Started fishing a little after 7 and left a little before 8 with one small pink. I saw a dozen or so caught and several schools of fish and one coho hooked and lost.
Fishing will only get better in the next few weeks.

The advantage of the river is not having to worry so much about the wind.  A possible disadvantage is people from the EPA/department of health (can't remember which one it was) showing up and wanting to interview you about eating the fish out of the Duwamish.

I liked the launch at the Duwamish Waterway Park.  It's a bit of a trek and it'd be hard for me to find without GPS, but it wasn't crowded, parking was quite close to the water, and it's a nice roll down to the sand/mud beach.

Fungunnin--just a heads up, but if I am reading the regs right, all the river that's part of MA10 (including the Spokane Street Bridge) is closed still until the 1st of September.

The way I read/understood the reg is outside or saltwater side is open Fri-Sun until the end of August. The inside is closed until Sept 1. After that it should be open seven days a week.

I have never launch in that area. But I did find launchable spot where you will miss going through the battle area of hooks and lines on the bridge. I will probably try that spot next Friday if we are in town.

We were out at Golden Gardens this morning. The place is full of fish. One kayak fisherman (Bug Wand) nailed about 7 or 8 Pinks with his magic pink fly on a fly rod - to tell the truth we all lost count. I got one pink at 7 AM, and that was enuf Pink action for me, so I switched to a deep-six with a glow-green 8" flasher and a Brads Cut Plug that looked a lot like my breakfast granola bar. Just a coincidence but I picked up a Coho while I was munching on the granola bar. Boats that were casting pink buzz bombs were getting as many as 30 Pinks all CnR.

Now is the time if you like to cast for Pinks, bust out those pink buzz-bombs and sit out at the green can catching until your arms fall off. Tides are just getting better this week (less extreme), and these overcast mornings help, so they should be in there thick all week.

Sounds awesome. The oldest kid and I were planning on going in the morning then he got a better offer. Little Rotter! :D:D

Oh well I will probably wander out sometime around 8 AM. Using some herring and dropping it a little deeper hoping for a silver.
