While I have no plans to get rid of my T13 I am about to pull the trigger on a new 2013 Revo

I have a few questions though.
How do you PA owners like the lowrance ready plate?
Not sure that it is worth the extra cash on an already spendy boat.

I am pretty sure I will buy turbo fins right out of the gate, but is the sail rudder a worthwhile upgrade?

Do any of you own a sail kit?
Do you like it, and actually use it?
Do you feel outriggers are needed?

Congrats on your plans for a Hobie.  The Revo 13 is a great boat.  I can't speak to your other questions but the turbo fins are a must and the sailing rudder is nice but the standard rudder is works fine.

My 2013 PA-14 with the Lowrance cover + Humminbird transducer adapter ($9.00) worked excellent....everything for the transducer lined up as advertised and my Humminbird 768 FF/GPS combo unit works better than shooting through the hull.......and in my old Outback, it was more than acceptable shooting through the hull.

Turbo fins - definitely a 100% improvement;
Sail Rudder - yes, much faster turning;
Amas - not necessary, but I have them for peace of mind in the salt, and would like to get a sail eventually.
Transducer plate - never had a problem shooting thru the hull

Sailing rudder is nice and a cheap upgrade compared to the turbo fins.

Ammas are one of those things that are required for some people and loathed by others. It comes down to your level of comfort on an unstable platform.

Personally I have an Adventure and have never thought I needed the additional support of ammas.

Have you spent much time in other kayaks?

I love the Lowrance plates. In fact the 2014 outbacks and revos will now come with the lowrance ready plates on bottom as well.

Just got an Outback, I would definately go with the turbo fins and sailing rudder right out of the gate, makes for a huge improvement, espeacially out on the salt.

I have only really spent time in my trident and a few inflatables (innova safari and an nrs)
Lots if time in my pontoon boat,
I don't have the best paddling skills, but I have never felt unsafe...
The only reason I am even looking for an upgrade, is to free up my hands
 I should prob just get the 2014 and not worry about saving 100$

I have a 2014 Revo13 on preorder. The wait is agonizing. It's only $100 more for a little ease of installation later. I think that is well worth it. I don't feel I get the best readings on my Outback with the shoot through hull install. That Lowrance  plate removes that doubt.
I'm getting excited! I can't wait for my revo to arrive.

That's probably not the only upgrade, they are constantly tweaking little things here and there.

I started in a T13 then went to a Revo 13.

I second most of what DoubleR posted:

Turbo fins - a must
Sailing Rudder - a must
Amas - no way
Shooting through the hull works very well.

I just replaced a Lowrance Elite 5 with a Lowrance Elite 7 HDI under a transducer plate on a PA12 and the visibility and detail is astonishing. My 2 cents, if buying a new Outback or Revo and you plan to use a higher end sonar unit, I would wait a few days and get the 2014. I know that Next Adventure and Kayak Shed will be receiving their new Hobies any day now. Remember this though, the only time a Hobie dealer can discount a Hobie is when they receive their newer models. This means the discount or savings between the 2014 and 2013 can more then just $100.
Cheers

Turbo fins and sailing rudder are definitely worth it! Sailing rudder allows you to turn on a dime!

full marks for the Elite 7 HDI, installed mine back in May in my PA12 in about an hour and the images/display/capabilities are fantastic (I usually split the screen with 83KHz on left and 200KHz on right), uses some electricity (it can display battery voltage which is great); love it and the Lowrance Ready made install so easy...
