You know you guys, you could always launch at Cline spit instead and follow the channel out and around. Cline spit is between the bay and dungenss launch. That would keep you out of the mud probably alittle better.
I have never launched out of dungeness launch, but I have used cline spit to drop crab pots. I don't know, dungeness is further east but more north by a bit. Cline is in westward but sits a little bit more in. 6 to1 half a dozen to another. I think if it were me I would try cline. Just my thoughts.

Wow, That would have been harsh for me..I can barely walk when i'm done Kayaking. let alone drag my heavy Hobie that far through thick mud. you guys are hardcore.

Thankfully, you didn't have  30 pounds of fish to drag too.. ;)

I would have given up and just sat in my kayak until high tide again.
See ya on the water..

I think Cline is further up the Bay than Dungeness Landing, where we launched.  But I don't know if it is as flat at that launch as it is at Dungeness Landing.

CBY ... the comment I mad to Bryce while we were slogging it out was that I was glad we didn't catch a 100 pounder as that would have sucked dragging it up the flats!   ;D

I've seen both (Cline and D. Landing) and I think they are about the same.

Cline is not as flat as D. landing, nor is it as muddy. Sandy and rocky bottom for the most part. You could have probably paddled within 50' of the boat launch. After all, avoiding the 100 yard mud dash is the goal right.

The 100 yrd mud dash.... ahhhh, that's gotta be the funniest fish story I've heard in a long time.  Next time I have a chance to gather around the campfire with you two, I'm gonna ask to hear that story again and again.  >:D  LOL

If at first you don't succeed....  maybe skydiving is just not for you.
