... My sea kayak on the other hand is not a boat. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it becomes an extension of myself. Like a well tailored suit, or maybe like a prostheses for the sea creature i'm really meant to be.
.
An SOT is probably a much more efficient fishing platform, has a much lower learning curve, and is probably safer for most. Maybe even for me. ...

And hence, post #71.

Sit inside kayaks are good for lakes cause if the fish gets off it won't jump out of the boat. I just finished the orc tourney and I probably would not use my sit inside kayak again in the ocean. But I love it for flat water.

There is a huge advantage with a SOT when going after large fish. The ability to sit side saddle and load fish on the back deck is a very important.
A SOT is a better fishing boat a SINK is a better touring boat.
I am only talking about quality boats not Fred Meyer specials. Those are all junk and only suited for frog ponds.

I sincerely disagree with the statement on the Fred Mayer boats there barely dutiable for the swimming pool. Seen a couple of them in the lakes around here usually upside down.
