I've been buying my bottom fishing jigs here for quite sometime.  got a catalog in the mail around Christmas time - tons of plastic lures to choose from.  decent bulk prices as well.

Please share more info on where you get your lures.  thanks.

Thanks for the link!

Most of the time I just snag stuff at sales or on clearance at whatever store I'm at; I just try to keep my eyes open. I'm not particularly loyal to any one store overall.

That said if I'm out of something and I need it NOW my first stop is Fisherman's Marine and Outdoor in Oregon City. Not much of an online presence, though.

I follow some of the TX inshore and nearshore kayak guys and I'm interested in some of the swimbaits they throw for redfish and speckled trout. I'd like to try them up here.

just placed an order for some baits that should give more action that my usual grub or shad while bottom fishing.  I was interested in experimenting with a few out bottom fishing, and in some of the local sloughs for bass.  (hopefully the pictures will attach).

bottom fishing I'm usually running a 6oz jig head - will likely have to down size on a few of the new lures I ordered.  been getting my jigs at either Bob's in Longview, or Englund Marine in Astoria.  for the 6 inch shad boddies the 6oz jig had at Bobs has a nice long shank on it that gets the hook 3/4 the way down the body.  the mold they use at Englund i'll usually put on the grubs since it's shank is considerably shorter and seems to fit better.

My wife seems to always get hit by cabezon with similar shapes.

Tip for smaller jigs: If you want the hook a bit farther down the body just cut off the top 10-25% or so of the plastic bait. Works well on all scales, especially on days when you're getting hits but no hookups.

I just put an order in for some of these bad boys. I want to see how they'll do picking up cabbies.

let us know how well those crab work - would be curious to see different options on how to rig one of those to get it on bottom.

Will do. I got some other ones on my order but I can't remember what they were. I ordered like 37 packages of Gulp stuff and another 30 of spinners crankbaits roster tails ect.
