couple quick questions -

will there be one this year?

is the sign up the same for youth Div as it is for reg?

will I need to set my daughter up with a NWKA login?

I'm not sure if there will be a youth division (I haven't heard either way), but Polepole didn't ask me to drop it  from the AOTY site so I'm guessing it will happen.

As for signing up... the cost is free for kids in conjunction with an adults paid AOTY entry.
You're daughter will need her own AOTY account but not necessarily an NWKA account.

Sure, we'll have a youth division, but the prizes may just be token in nature.  This year we only had 3 youth competitors entering fish.  Hardly worth doing, but we are already set up for it ... SO TAKE YOUR KID FISHING!!!

I hope it will happen. Some nice young man approached me at the Boat Show, and had the good wild look in his eye when he saw my T-13. Said he was going home to hook up  his portable fish finder on his kayak. I steered him toward NWKA and told him to look into the Youth Division of AOTY.

This is just one more good reason to sign up for AOTY - love it!

If you need more participants, I suppose I could talk Nowell into registering fish this year.   ;D

Ok. I'm in. And this year I gotta win something...even if it's vicariously through kids. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna sorta cheat. Instead of two, I will be responsible for four kids!!! Instant bigger family...just add water...and a couple more kayaks...and a few more PFD's, and four new drysuits...uh...no.  They will have to learn to share but I will enter them!!!!!

I signed up my 12 yr old daughter too a couple days ago (nanguspup) ...not sure why she's not showing up though.

She's sooooo stoked to get out and fish with her dad this year!...I'm just as stoked to get her out on some fish!

Her account should still be there, we just need to activate it for 2014.  Since we don't require a signup fee for youths, you'll need to drop us a note letting us know which youth account to activate for 2014.  Thanks!

I've got to say I really like the creativity with the kid's names. Crabbykid, Nauguspup, Osteves... are we going to get Firstmate Redbeard and Dot (Spot)?

Hey fellas, question...

Would love to enter my little fella for fun but I'd have to tow him or we'd have to tandem on the Fish - n- dive, that ok or does he need to be able to entirely self propel (he's 6). And yeah, signing up for my first AOTY , looking forward to it.

Whatever it takes TC.  Little guys/gals get an exemption from the assist rules.  He/she just needs to be in control of the rod.
