With no fishing the past few months, I'm getting anxious to get back out on the water.  I'm planning to hit Hagg Lake this Saturday, maybe finding some of the fish that I returned to the water in November; just plumper and firmer now than they were then!

Anybody else planning on being out there?

Keep a look out while on the Hagg, Sam. The Jadester is known to haunt those waters

Yep, we're gonna make it. We'll have to settle for leftovers though - can't make it till noon or so.

Also just letting everyone here know I read on another forum that ramp A is closed due to broken dock cables and the county will most likely be unable to repair before opening day.  So ramp C parking lot will most likely be heavily congested.  Just saying.

I plan to be there. Unless I can find someone with knowledge and interest in trying the Bonneville Pool for sturgeon. It's open now and I have always wanted to fish it for dinos.

I will be there bright and early. Will we be able to use the beach to launch at Boat Ramp A?

Looking forward to seeing some of you guys out there Saturday - bright and early myself!  I too had heard about the Ramp A closure, and had planned to focus on the Scoggins and Sain Creek areas, making Ramp C a better match anyway.  Not that the ramps are necessary, but my previous trips have been in the fall, with low water - conditions where the ramps are nice to have.

ETA:  Now thinking further, Ramp A could be quite peaceful, could be nice not having to dodge the powerboats launching.  If the ramp is not usable, as Wobbler asked, anybody know what to expect of the overland launch conditions?

Thanks for the warning, and though it would be great to meet the Jadester out there, shouldn't he really be working on Chapter 4?  I know that I came to his story late, but too waiting for what comes next.  Fishing can happen later, once the writing is done, right?!?!?!   ;D

Just an FYI for those planning to hit Hagg in a power boat.   Due to the mass amount of rain/snow we recently had in the area, you will find  A LOT of tree debris floating aimlessly out there.   I just did a drive around the lake this past Sunday and could see the debris from the road.  Also the water is all mirky brown right now as well.

I'm planning on being there. I usually go for bass at Hagg, but after unintentionally C&R-ing a nice brooder at Walter Wirth last week, I'm looking for a little rainbow payback.

Sam,
Was trying to draw him out. Any type of response would have worked from him... been a while since he posted, and yeah EVERYONE wants to read chapter 4

anyone make it out to hagg?  I did and the fishing was not as good as it usually is.  I did however see some pretty nice pimped out hobie kayaks trolling along between ramp a and the damn one was light blue the other olive color.  I would be shocked if they were not members of the forum.

Sounds like Wobbler's boats. I'd guess it was him and a buddy.

Yeah, it was a buddy and I exercising around the lake. It's a convoluted new program where you dangle a glittery piece of metal at the end of a long string. If you become proficient at the string they even give you a pole. You do all this while pedaling in circles on a lake.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't fishing. Because then you at least catch a fish.

Wobbler

P.S. I did catch one 50 ft from the dock.
