Oh, I think that's a South Sound Shot.

I like them too, seems mostly designed with the east coast in mind right now though.

Yup, drink up!

Reverse would be a handy tool for sure! Especially fishing edges of the impact zones around jetties, or maneuvering between docs while bass fishing. The mirage drive has made me quasi lazy. I'd rather paddle in a full circle than reach of the paddle 90% of the time.

Looks like the Mariner 12.5 propel is $2099 at ACK with free shipping.  That is $800 less than the pro angler 12.  The mariner also weighs 30lbs less, unfortunately though you give up 4" of width and 100lbs of capacity.  Thats not a big deal for me though I'm only 5'6" and 140lbs.   I just wish there was a place to try it out first.

If you guys find yourself going through Clatskanie (along the Columbia river on the way to Astoria) give me a shout.  it's a 5 minute drive from my house to being in the water on the Clatskanie river, and I got no problem with letting NWKA members take it for a spin.  Will save the drive to the South Sound for you Oregonians.  Once the water temp warms up a bit the fishing on the Clatskanie should be picking up a bit.  ;)

I would not recommend the Mariner Propel.  I think this is the model that sumpNZ was commenting on the barge-ness and poor rudder, and I'd have to agree as well.
