Actually I have my shorter extension on this rod holder. I use a longer one at times.

I will go crazy if I can't see my rod tip.  I mount my rod holder in front of me. Then I cross the rod in front of me.  But in order to do so comfortable, you'll want an extension to raise the rod up higher. I think this video shows my trolling set up. If you don't use an extension, you will need a long rod so you can really increase the angle.

I use folbe rod holders but the others should have extensions as well.

Niiice. I noticed you have your holder and FF on one side. That makes swinging legs and feet in and about easier. I might try that. My Waderboots are big clubs banging around in a small space.

It also gives me something to grab onto if I ever need to pull myself in. I try to keep one side entirely clear for that purpose.

I use soda straws to store my leaders.  Cut straws to 1"-2" depending on leader size and length, then coil the leader and stuff one end of the coil through the straw.  Store the leaders in a Plano box, baggies, or whatever you use.  Here's a pic of some of my leaders/lures.

I've been carrying less and less stuff almost every time I go, whether I'm fishing from the kayak or from the bank.  I went from carrying an over-stuffed 24-can soft cooler to a big waist pack to a really small fanny pack, and now I'm down to a pocket-sized waterproof Plano box.

Since I'm using the smallest Plano boxes I can find, now it's not what I take, but what I've started to forget and leave behind in the truck: fish grips, needle-nosed pliers, clippers, camera...  All sitting there, safe and secure, behind the seat, in the truck, where they're doing me no good at all.

I'll probably have to get some fluorescent pink box thing just to remind me that I need what's inside of it.

I don't carry rigged leaders anymore.  I'm new to fishing from a kayak and not familiar with 99% of the water I can get to now, but even fishing from the bank, I'd start to change my setup and the pre-tied leader would be too short or too long, or too heavy or too light for the conditions, and I'd start tying everything again, from scratch.  I'm not clever enough to know what the fish might prefer until after I get to  harassing them.

But that clever, round CD wallet tip might make me re-think how I deal with leaders.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.
