Hey everyone,

I'm an avid fisherman but new to the area, specifically just north of Seattle, and new to the unique but amazing fishing the West Coast has to offer.  I recently purchased a used Hobie Pro Angler 12 and am currently trying to outfit it with a downrigger.  I've gotten out to Merwin lake once and caught a nice 16in rainbow and once to American Lake where I had no luck.  Can't wait to get back out there and hopefully meet some fellow Kayak Anglers!

Hey wdyaker15. Welcome to the forum.  I made a similar downrigger set up for my Hobie PA out of a piece of plywood.  I don't use it much as it's one more thing to bring with me and do most of my trolling with lead core line.

BallardBrad,  Thanks for the video.  I almost have my downrigger set up.  I tried it out today and made a couple more modifications. I plan on trying it out at American Lake tomorrow and will post some photos of the set up if it passes the satisfactory test tomorrow.  Lets Fish!
