I believe those dates were picked based on the ferry schedule. But I should let polepole as the organizer chime in.

I'm not the organizer!  Mark is the house master, you're the ferry master, bushy is the date master.  I just need to do my job and get a couple extra kayaks up to Alaska!

Lee, ferry rates are based on length.  A car up to 19' is about $180 each way.  Each traveller is $74 each way.   And a berth is a little over $100.  It's a red eye sailing so a berth is nice.  I'm guessing a trailer is another $180 each way.  With 4 guys with 4 kayaks and their gear, I'm guessing it would be very difficult to do this in one car.

WHAAA????  I'm in charge of the ferry?  Better start booking, it can fill up in a hurry.  I'll do more of the leg work for at least four people and a vehicle as soon as I can.  We better get the vehicle/and or trailer situation figure out soon then!!

It should be AWESOME!!

 :P

I might happen to know a guy (me) who has a couple extra yaks. And Kenai is on the way to the ferry.  That's prime time hunting season though...with a goat, caribou, and moose special draw tags I might be busy.  Time will tell.

Gimme a shout if you need to borrow a rig

Kodiak deer season?   :-*

We'll see how hunting goes.  Some of the tags I drew are pretty tough to get, which makes it imperative that I give them a good try.  I would love to go fish with you guys......thus I find myself in the best dilemma Alaskans can be in.   Hunt and kill a mountain goat and bears or go chase after some big fish.

Hmmmmmm?
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

Kayak Trailer.  It's probably going to be difficult to get 4 of us, our gear, and 4 kayaks over there in Rudy's car.  Our options ... rent a car/truck (although not always ok to put kayaks on it), find a trailer, find others to help, or ???

I have an outback some one from out of state could use. I can put that on top of my truck and I have a trailer for my adventure. Or I could not bring the AI, and instead bring my Snowmachine trailer which we could probably put 3 kayaks on

We also have a trailer--raft/snowmobile trailer--which I could haul several on. Or loan out--if I can't go.

Definitely as it approaches, I can get some pretty good info. My father in law guides down there, and most the people I know there through work are fishers.

Our May trip should be good for intel as well...though May to August won't translate 100%.

It's getting real now.  Flights booked, ferries booked, house booked, kayaks secured, transportation secured.  We brought on Chris Mautino from Liquid Adventures, who is supplying some kayaks and a truck, in additions to Rudy's kayaks and vehicle.

Now ... who wants to tell my wife?   ::)

Even though I can't get away to join in, I'm happy to assist on the logistics end -- airport shuttle, supplies, etc. Looking forward to seeing reports out of your trip.

Any chance that you guys can join us for a dinner or a beer on our way back?

Carlos and I would enjoy it very much.

I'm serious about lending an assist -- easiest thing in the world from where we are. Just tuck it away as an option.
