I would like to thank Langston, Anthony, and all the other HOW volunteers, as well.  I had fun and had time to take a few picture.

HOW guys getting launched:

Wobbler, like a shark hunting for his quarry, trolling the submerged brush:

Sam with his one of many bass.  All non-winning of course  ;D :

It was also a very scenic place to fish.

Finally, what would have been the winning fish.  Unfortunately, I only took one picture of this 27 7/16 inch monster and my thumb was in my way(I have really, really big hands and custom made x-large watches). Live and learn. There is always next year. 8)

Sounds like everyone who has reported had a great time . And it's always super to support HOW.

Will someone please post up some statistics-- How many participants, winning fish lengths, and prizes given out ? People want to know these things . Plus that helps build enthusiasm for next year as well . Of course , more pictures are always good too.

Thanks for the posts so far.......keep 'em coming.

The top 3 fish were 20, 19.75 and 19 inches if I remember correctly.  First prize was a Jackson kayak. 2nd to last was a 12 and 5/8 incher (DAMHIK). Langston will have to fill in the rest.

We all had a good time. Langston and John recommended Mayer park and it was awesome. Sheltered, for the most part, from the wind and current, it was the perfect spot. Both I and the third place winner caught our fish within 100 yards of each other.

Mark, all I can tell you is that I went home with an Astral Ronny Fisher PFD. Third place took home an Awesome set of sunglasses. There were reels, knives by Gerber, PFD's and so forth.

I have to thank John and Langston at the Kayak Shed for providing an awesome event. The Portland  Chapter of HOW is extremely grateful for their efforts and support.

A gigantic thank you goes to Craig, Sam, Sherman and Dennis for volunteering their time and helping us with the HOW event.

I'm enjoying your videos Anthony. I love it when guys talk rather than do music - I get a lot more out of it. Thanks!

As is echoed above the HOW PDX team really appreciates the support from the Kayak Shed and NWKA. Every dollar collected for entry fees will be pasted to our chapter and help fund events and equipment for the rest of the year. A huge thank you to Mr. Langcod that organized a great tournament and supported HOW. So, Langcod when is the next one?

Thanks to Langston, Kayak Shed, Jackson Kayak, Fish Grip, ProCure, and all of the other great sponsors and people who put the event together. It was great to get out and support HOW as well as enjoy some friendly competition.

I'll echo those above who would like to see the final results list just for fun. I think there were about 30 participants. The top 10 places were recognized, and it was some stiff competition.

Christine weighed in with a 13 1/8", and I managed a 14". I was so happy just to get a fish to stick after losing 4 or 5 before I could see them. Then I almost lost it when I was trying to measure it - man I love smallmouth!

Hopefully we'll do this again next year and hopefully the weather will be just as beautiful.

I'm trying to post some pictures but it's not letting me ??? So I'll try them one at a time.
