Also, if one does not have a hawg trough prior to game day, will they be available to purchase anywhere nearby?

They sure don't have them in the dalles at bimart,big5,Kmart,or Fredys.I looked months ago.might find them at Walmart in hood river or Columbia Gorge outfitters supply in Rufus (20+miles east of the dalles).

You can also just use a tape measure in a pinch.

I think to follow the rules of the tourney, you need a board that has an end on it......

You might just want to fish with a helpful friend if you can't find one.  you can buy one online and you still have plenty of time for shipping.

If you get a Hawg Trough then you should spray some foam on the backside so it floats.

or buy some foam gasketing like you use to seal doors & windows and stuff it in the slots that form the edges of your trough.

Procedural questions (maybe obvious to non-first-timers):
  • Is there any check IN on the morning, before fishing?
  • If not, where/when do we pick up our tourney sticker or whatever needs to be in the photos?
  • If not, where do we get the waiver and who and how do we send it in?

Thanks!
I will be emailing out the waivers to those registered so far, tomorrow. Please print, sign and send them back to:

KayakShed BBB Tournament
6 Oak St
Hood River, OR 97031

The tournament stickers will be sent out to those who have registered.

If you don't have the chance to sign and send in the waiver, I will be at the Nichols Boat Basin at 6 AM, so you can drop it off there. If you have forgotten your tournament sticker you can also pick one up there.

For those needing a bump board/hawg trough, we we're hoping to get some in to have available for purchase but it doesn't look like they'l be here in time. If you are in dire need of one please PM me as I'm sure we can get something figured out.

I was talking to a buddy last night who is a veteran and told him about this event and Heros On the Water and he is interested in signing up.  The big problem is that he does not own a kayak: Do you guys know of a cheap way to get him a kayak and PFD for the event?  I have some immersion gear he can borrow so that's covered.  I know it's short notice, but I figured I would check.

Drop an IM or email to lingbanger.  Also, I have extra kayaks that I can drop off to Anthony next week if he's short on rides.

Did you get my order?  I ordered it yesterday.  Also, did the ordertaker/shipping folks follow the "special instructions" I noted with my order?  If so, did it feel good.  ;D

Looks like the weather is going to turn to crap on us.  I hope it doesn't make the bite any harder.
