What is the parking and launch situation. Do you pay to park in the wind surfing lot?

I had a great time, for a great cause, and I was really happy how the prizes seemed to go to people who would use it most.

Wish I could have made it.  Looking forward to more reports.  Who has a new kayak today?

I want to thank everyone that made it out for the tournament. For our first year, we had a terrific turnout. I'm honestly humbled by the positive responses received at the ceremonies. I haven't had the chance to get the exact numbers, as we had a few registered the day before the tournament, but I know you all helped raise a kayak load ;) for Portland Heroes On the Water. So, again thank you to all our participants.

I want to throw a huge shout out to all of the sponsors: Jackson Kayak, Astral Designs, Werner Paddles, NRS, Cabela's, Kokatat, Okuma Fishing, The Fish Grip Co, YakAttack, Korkers, Costa Sunglasses, Pro Cure Scents, Skwoosh, and Yak Gear. You all really made this event possible. Please support these fine companies as they have supported us.

I'm pleased to say that the Jackson Kayak Coosa is headed home as Greg's first kayak! He was fishing the tournament in a borrowed Jackson Kilroy and pulled in a 20 incher. Scraping out a win by a meare 1/4". Greg splits time between New Mexico and Hood River.

Wobbler has finally broken his tournament skunk. And he did it in style, coming in second with a great looking 19.75" fish.

Very excited to announce that one of the HOW participants, who I believe was fishing from a kayak for the first time, placed third with a 19 and a half inch bass.

Thanks again for the great turnout and I look forward to doing this again next year.

Thanks to Langston and John and the rest of the Kayak Shed staff and sponsors. Also to Lingbanger for his efforts in getting the HOW part of tournament organized. I know he wants to duck any praise, but he really puts  a lot into HOW, along with Wobbler and Noah. I was really pleased to see Steve (Wobbler) and Scott (HOW vet) take 2nd and 3rd. It was Scott's 2nd time in a kayak ever, and his 1st time fishing out of one. It was a great first run for the tourney.
