Anyone ever try to fish sawyer?  Talked to a couple people on the way out and most said that the fish in there are extremely finicky... thoughts, tips, experiences all welcome  ;D

I fished Sawyer twice last year, skunked both times.  I fished to the right of the ramp both times.  The first time out was mid-week so only saw one other person on the lake.  Both of us were worm fishing, could have been during the spawn.  The Pb'r was having no luck either.  Fished about all the structure, weeds, shallows I could but no luck.  I did see a couple of big bass but could not hook one.

The second time out was a nice weekend.  BIG mistake.  Calm in the a.m. but around 10:00 they let the ski boats out.  and out they do come!  It got rough and wild quick.  Fished the right shore again with everything in the box and nothing.  I talked to a couple of guys on shore and they did have some luck around the docks with buzz baits and small stick baits.  Hope this helps.  Good luck!  Let me know if you have any better luck.  It is a nice looking lake.

Lake Sawyer has fat bass. You just have to hit it when they are active and there is a law on the books which restricts the hours of the ski boats.... maybe one more month.

I will get the specifics from him, but I know he uses the slow death hooks with the red worm trailer.
Let me talk to him today after work and i will post a couple of his pic with a little more detail.
