Today was an awesome day at Sunset Bay. Launched at 7:30 AM to calm wind and smooth water. By 11 we were pedaling back in with limits of Cod and Lings. Bumped up my AOTY score by a little more with a 26 inch ling. Must have ten pounds of boneless filets!! yum yum!!  :headbang:

See ya on the water..

Nice Roy,

I have yet to get out on the salt water this year.  Between family, work trips, and my second sinus infection in about a month I'm not sure when that's going to happen.

Oh yea, i forgot they got a new sign at the cleaning station in Charleston that says you can't throw the carcasses in the water, you gotta take em with you!! the seagulls were sitting down below waitin for 'em, they weren't to happy. I guess it's to try and keep the seals away....

Beautiful fish.  Sunset Bay is on my list of summer destinations this year.

Any good crabbing spots in that neighborhood?  Might be a use for the left over carcasses.

Thanks Spot.

Hmm, I do have a bunch of comp time saved up from my work trips so I actually should take a day off work soon.  Taking a day off work is good because it isn't really considered a distraction from family time by my wife.  Now if I can only get rid of this nagging sinus infection.

Just curious, anyone interested in hitting the ocean on say Thursday?

Yea Three, there's just about everything within a few miles here,Fishies, crab, clams(yuk). I guess i can freeze it and use it for crab bait. I haven't been crabbing in quite a while though. Maybe i can find someone that does and pawn it off on them..

Roy,

Sunset beach is going to be a stretch for me for just a day trip.  Yeah, I know you came up and fished sturgeon with me for the day this winter.  I'll get down there at some point this summer.

Yea, i know it's a long way. Remember, i got floor space for overnighter's any time. Save on camping or motel costs at least.

Nice catch Roy!!!,
Im headed yer way fer supper tonight!
By all means save them carcasses for crab bait.
Here in Brookings they save all the carcasses and grind em up and dump them a few miles off shore, and yes, it has curbbed the Sea Lion population a bit.
Been tossin' the crab traps out off the steel wall in the harbor here and doing pretty well considering the dredge ship Yaquinna has been suckin it up all week here. They figure on removing 14' deep of mud and muck from the mouth into the commercial boat basin.
Then the crabbing gets good here from the dock.

Yes, a very nice job rubbing it in, Roy. For freshwater fishing, I feel pretty good, here in the Methow. But it sucks for saltwater! :'(

Brian, isn't saline solution recommended for infections? ;)
