Put my yak in for a short paddle and some flycasting this morning. Nothing much stirring except a shy otter. No bugs hatching, no surface activity. Three boat trailers in the Lava Flow Campground parking lot. One was hauling out when I took out; said he caught a 25-inch rainbow and wife lost a bass, but I forgot to ask how they were fishing. Guessing this will get better in the weeks ahead as things warm up.

That looks pleasant. I had to refresh my memory where Davis Lake is. We are hoping to get up that way to some of those lakes this summer.
