I hooked two last time I was up there fishing for greenling, I headed out and fished to the left, right where the pass current comes around the corner, It was very fishy in there. I hooked two under sized by barely, and missed some big hits, mooching herring. Maybe try it over there if no success at the normal spot. Have fun

Hoping the wind wasn't too crazy (boy was I wrong) I got there about 545 (high tide was 7 am). Didn't know park wasn't open till 630  :embarassed:.Drove over to the Rosario side and wheeled in.  It wasn't a bad launch at all.  The wind was nuts. Steady 10 -20mph with bigger gusts and lots of rain.   Fished a couple of hours before calling it a morning.  No fish but a fun ride.  Will try later this week.

Headin' out this Saturday. Low tide at 8:20 am. Maybe the weather gods will be more favorable this time.  Has anyone fished off he east side of northwest island? It looked like a nice deep ledge.  Wayne

The west side is better. Particularly the SW side. I've gotten a couple legals there. Urchin rocks is another place to try.

thanks Rory,  oops I meant the west side,  the contour lines are mighty close together on that side.  I,m in the process of replacing my fried transducer cable, so will be relying on maps and kelp beads.

Got out this morning to hit low tide.  As I was rigging the new flounder jig (still on shore) I decided to hook my index finger.  Not too much blood...but then I was attaching the stinger treble hook, getting ready to pinch the barbs, I decided to let it slip and hook my little finger (barb not yet crimped. I was getting ready to cut the line and get some help on pulling it out, but decided to be a big boy and work it out.  My finger bled like a SOB, but stopped with a little compression .  Now on to fishing.  Two foot wind waves, made things a little interesting, but not bad.  No ling, just one solid take down. Did get a small greenling and an undersized cabbie.  The dolphin, sea lions, and seals put on a good show throughout the morning.  Good luck this week.

I was at bowman today for a few hours and thought conditions were pretty good.  Only had one hit on a swimbait but no hookups.  It was fun when I got too close to the edge of the rip through the pass and snagged bottom at the same time.

Not sure I understood the post, but treble hooks are not allowed in Puget Sound.

Page 100: Hook and line angling - Unless noted differently, only one line with up to 2 hooks is allowed. Barbless hooks are required for all species in Marine Areas 5-13, except forage fish jig gear.
