That would be 3 days fishing in a row, 18 black cod and 5 lings..... :headbang:

The second Ling i caught today was fat and i thought for sure it was a 30+ finally, but only 27 1/2. Still the biggest Ling I've caught in Oregon and had very nice fllets...

The first Ling got a little revenge on me.Caught him, gaffed him, gave him a few love taps with the "fish stroker", tried to remove the jig which was inside it's mouth and he clamped down on my thumb and forefinger which were gripping the jig. At least had the presence of mind to not yank my hand back.  Had to pry it's mouth open to retreive my jig.......And my fingers !!.Yep, got alot of blood on my Kayak today and mostly mine. :-[

Fished with "royg" and my buddy Ralph and we all did excellent !! Too bad i can never remember to take stills...

No Cab's yet..... :dontknow:

Oh yea, the bonus......I got my NWKA stickers today!!!  :hello2: :blob1: They kick A@@ !!

See ya on the water..
Roy

Nice Roy,

I really need to stop ready these posts of yours until I can get out and see some ocean action for myself.  I'm way jealous.

I'm lovin your posts Roy!  Keep em comin'.

Seems like your confidence level has come a long way.  Time to try some new water isn't it?   :)

An aside:
I took the kids surfing after work last night.  Ocean conditions were glass with a 3' swell and 17sec period.  Everything facing north was dead flat.  Would have been a perfect evening to fish!  I wouldn't have traded a session with my boys for anything though.  Sometimes being "Dad" rocks!
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

The only thing harder for me to read than one of CBY's reports is reading Spot's follow up telling me that conditions up here have also been perfect.

I'm looking forward to having a few surfing sessions with my son in a few years.

Yea, it's going off right now.And all this in just a small area so far. We have been venturing farther south, found a hot spot where i landed that bigger Ling, had one that was real big get off the hook right before that one. Still alot of area to cover out there.

Yep spot, gettin to be an old salt..One that has to take dramamine, but an old salt non the less.

Gotta go again tomorrow, that 30+ incher is out there waitin for me. should be four of us there tomorrow. I'm definately, probably, most likely, hope i remember to take pics... :-\
See ya on the water..

Hopefully Z and I will bring back some pics of ourselves with monster lings this summer when we head down to Elk, CA for the big rockfish tournament there.

BTW Z, we'll need to figure out a way to bring back an extra yak or two just in case    ;)

First time I went to Elk, I ended up with an extra kayak I didn't have room for on my truck and I had to make an extra drive to Ukiah about a week later to pick it up.  ;D

As for the Mark Shimizu lingcod photos (1st and last photos).. the guy's like what 4 ft tall which makes all his fish look enormous.  Okay, they actually are enormous, but his photos always larger than life.
