I got on the water at 830. I forgot how far of a dragit is to the water from the parking lot. At least 500 feet on low tide. I needed a cart bad. Headed out to the grounds dropped in and started fishing in about 30 to 35 feet, using point willSon  dart. Instantly started connecting with cookie cutter rockfish couple pounders. It was cool I hooked three different types. Quill back copper and what a surprise a black bass. I've only seen one of those caught here in area nine. I got my first irish lord.what a pretty fish, and ugly at the same time. Out in the deeper water 60 plus still getting rockfish,  it looks like they are finally getting. Number back. I didn't manage any lings. I did however miss a couple of real good bends, of course they hit when I was using one hand to row and straighten out, the wind was humming. I also I managed to hook a few sole. Pretty good day. Currents were a bit tough today and wind was a burden. Saw some whales too. Good day on the water and a nice Buzz.

Nice report. That Irish lord's a beaut, with a face only a mother or angler could love.

What kind of whales did you spot?
