   jojopotato.

I'm a hundred miles north of you on the Washington side of the big C.

Have never fished around Tillamook area but would certainly like to. Your idea of starting an AOTD tournament in that region is a great idea. Hope you can make it happen. Like Mark said " if you build it --they will come" or something like that.

Make it down to ORC in Depoe Bay on July 12th and you can talk to several people who have been involved with the organizing of tournaments. Learn as much as you can and get to work . Maybe some fall salmon fishing . I've heard there are a few salmon come in to that bay by you.

  Good luck..........
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Finally escaped PDX and now am in Astoria.  A bit far from you but have spent considerable time planting lead in Tillamook bay and most of the coast within reason from Cornvalley in my college days.  Honestly you are not in the worst spot to fish the bay, but close.  Look for the conflux of rivers, SE, and then watch where the troll line is.  Very productive.

As a side note, when it is 'wonderful' out and you want to fish, the Barview north jetty can produce.  It may take a spell or two to learn the rock formations and unless you are driving the field pickup make sure to not park past the USCG tower.  Fingernails (sand) on glass years later.  Surfcasting is one of my all consuming hobbies and when it is too bad to be in the water a broomstick (cheap China pole) can work the jetty with better success.

I find myself in Newport fairly often.  Haven't been brave enough to take my kayak out in the salt, but maybe someday!!  Hope to fish the Siletz, Yaquna and maybe Tillamook for fall chinook this year.  I'll probably drop in on the ORC just to check out all the kayak fishes.  Barb

I live in Myrtle Point, about 30 minutes drive to either Bandon or Coos Bay/North Bend.  Close enough to the coast to be a part of it, yet far enough away that you can hear the banjo music in the distance.  :banjo:
I do what the voices in my wife's head tell me to do.

Is it a pack, gagle, school or heard? Btw I want to hit the big blue down there once I get all the gear needed for open water, with some guided help of course.

Depending on which day it is. By the way am Scott from North Bend and I have the yellow OK big game prowler in yum yum yellow and I harass bottom fish with a fly rod. As soon as you get everything that you need come on down somebody will go out with you. Just let us know.
