I know guys who use their kayaks daily in Alaska and don't own wheels. Just drag it up and down the beach he said he has never worn through a hull on any of his plastic boats.
Not saying you can't eventually wear though the hull, but it will take a lot to do that.

Fiberglass doesn't drag so well. I had some major leaks after 2 weeks in Alaska last year. 95% of the beaches there are rock, which is a lot tougher on any loaded kayak hull. There is a polyethylene product that you can apply to fiberglass hulls with a heat gun, but it looks like a band-aide imo. I've reinforced this hull with multiple layers of glass, up to 8 down the main keel. Ready for Alaska 2014 in a few weeks.

My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Yikes!  Are you saying that you hit that car with your car, and your kayak punched through the windshield of the other car?

Mr Mojo is correct. They rear ended me. The trailer hitch and tailgate may have helped a little in the brawl.
Luckily the couple were not friendly towards each other at the moment and the male had been banished to the backseat since they weren't on speaking terms at the moment. May have saved his life.

Sorry to hijack. Yes, most rotomolded kayaks are extremely durable and I wouldn't worry too much about beach dragging. But as others have mentioned, I would recommend the wheeleez carts. Cry once when you buy it, but forever enjoy watching others plow through the sand with their skinny wheels. Not using a cart can be better in some situations than using crappy wheels.
