I have been looking at kayak carts . It seems they come in two styles the type you set the kayak on top of and strap it down and the scupper type that has two rods that go up through the scupper holes . Any thoughts on what design works best I have a ride 135 so its a pretty heavy kayak

Thanks

I have a C-Tug and love it.  The nice thing is that the pads lay flat so you could theoretically haul other gear with it.

After some internet research (for whatever that is worth) I found too many cautionary tales of cracked scupper holes from using a scupper cart on a kayak not made for it.  Whether or not the cautions are true, I decided that my investment was worth more than the 2 extra minutes it takes to secure a regular cart with straps.

Maybe email and ask the company that makes yours what they recommend?

Get a Wheelz simply the best beach cart on the market. I've hauled two trident 13s stacked on top of each other.

I believe Fungunnin is referring to the Wheelez Beach Cart.  They are on the pricey side, so search around.  I've had one for 5 years and use it about 20-40 times a year.  It is still in perfect condition.  Use it, rinse it, lube it, love it.

I started with a Scupper Pup and it didn't even last a season before it bent.  The force it took to bend the metal cart upper was all being borne by the plastic scupper.  :(

I have a Wheelez Mini (not the same as the full size beach cart) I'm getting rid of. If someone wants it, I'll bring it to ORC. $80
