Personally if my kayak requires a trailer and boat ramp I might as well just get a power boat.

That is my sentiment exactly.

I blame Demonick for starting this!    ;D

not exactly clear which boats we are talking about that require a trailer and boat ramp? just the PA17T?  any PA?  any heavy Hobie?

I really get a chuckle out of this because I have a PA12 and Oasis and deal with them exactly the same, usually transport them hanging out of an SUV and supported by a hitch carrier, slide them out right onto a Hobie sculper cart or right into the water if I can back up close (like at a boat launch).  on the cart, I can wheel either over beach or sloped bank or boat launch.  so for me, if a PA12 is a boat then an Oasis is a boat.  I have yet to hear a non-subjective criteria that would put these two kayaks into different catagories.  cheers, roger

I would get two Pro Angler 12s before I got a PA17, but that is just me.  I would like to take it up to Potholes Res. and enter one of the bass tournaments.  They require 2 people in a boat.  I love showing up powerboaters.
