I've been using a green Konezone flasher with anchovy in a teaser head + down rigger 6lbs, haven't had much luck yet. Can see my canon ball going through bait balls. Wonder if I'm not going fast enough in my hobie. I'm usually going 1.5-2knots on top of the current in my hobie.

What are you using for your trolling setup? or have you found mooching or jigging to be more effective?

What area are you fishing? It sounds like you're pretty much dialed in but a good response to this question may be dependent on location.

I'm up in Vancouver, BC. Most guys are running 11" flashers. Saw them hooking up around me, they said there were fishing off the bottom. I could see my gear on the fish finder down there...

I've been having success with herring strip on the yak, it is more forgiving than anchovy in terms of speed and you needn't worry about the roll. Maybe buy a strip head holder and give that a try.

Sounds good Tsquared. Sounds like you and I are the only guys fishing for salmon! or maybe not fishing for salmon -- too busy posting on forums ;)

Since you're asking about what we're doing in Oregon/Washington, I'll throw my tips in here.  I usually run a Konezone flasher (one of the bigger ones) and lead on a dropper line.  Depending on where I'm fishing, I use anywhere between about 2 to 16 oz of lead.  Most of the time I'm using 4 or 8 oz.  I also have divers that I use sometimes.  I'm pretty much never targeting salmon in depths of greater than 70 ft. though so I've never felt the need for a downrigger.  As far as lures go I like running cut plug herring, trolling spoons, spinners, prawn spinners, or Brad's cut-plugs.

Hey Rawkfish,

What's your favourite Konezone? You running the 9" one?

My local shop didn't have much options. I'm running one that is 6" long and is a chartreuse blade with cracked ice hologram tape on one side.
