Hey NWKA,

We're looking for volunteers.

A little late on the notice, but what the hell you're going to go salmon fishing anyway, am I right?

Come on out with HOW and help get some deserving Veterans on some salmon. Our base of operations will be at Netul Landing where they have a nice non-motorized launch. Volunteers should plan on an 08:30 arrival with Veterans arriving at 09:30.

Scott (kykfshr) has graciously agreed to lead this trip and word is he has this stretch dialed.

Low tide is just after noon. If covering ground produces more fish or people grow weary of paddling against the incoming tide we are looking to set up a take out upriver at the L&C River Boat ramp (approx 1 mile).

Come on out and help put a Vet on a fish, then catch a fish yourself. What could be better than a beautiful day on the Lewis and Clark? A beautiful day spent helping someone that fought for our freedom.

Let us know if you can make it.

Thank you,

HOW - OR

(directions)
From Astoria, head south on U.S. Highway 101 and follow the signs to Fort Clatsop. Drive 1.5 miles past the entrance to the fort to Netul Landing. From Seaside, head north on U.S. 101 and follow the signs. Park Entrance Fee $3 (over 16)

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

That is a beautiful area - fished it last August with my son.  Bummed we can't help out - going to be out of town with the family next weekend.  Good luck!

Should be a lot of fish moving through the area, and we have a good level of interest from Veterans. We could use some more volunteers.

This event is just about too good to pass up, but since I will be camping with the family up on the headwaters of the Cowlitz, I am going to have to. Really wish I could be there...

Salmon sized spinners and maybe a little bit of weight.

Salmon gear, a net and your winning smile. Maybe an extra bag chair if you have one.

Anthony,  I'm in.  I still have one of the invasive tags from last weekend too.  I will be sure to bring it.

Will we need an extra revo?

I would much rather be up a creek without a paddle than down one.

Great, we will probably need the revo, if you don't mind lending. Would you be up for towing my trailer out there? That would be a HUGE help. My request for a weekend pass was denied :(

Noah,  can you take it to work one day?

If you want I can just store it here for you.  I have a nice red one I will even trade for it...

Also - do you need me to bake a hacksaw into a cake for you?

Yup, can you store it in a secure place? It will have 4-5 boats on it.
