Sweet! I'm jealous after trolling that same area Sunday, but much later in the day. Way to get the sunrise bite. That shot of you holding up the fish against the sun is awesome!

That was a learning video for me on how to net a salmon now that figured out how to hook one , I just need to learn how to keep them on long enough to get them in the net. Great vid thanks for sharing you weren't too far from where I bagged the cabby.

Thanks for the comment.. The big thing I TRY to do is play the fish out as much as possible if I'm going to keep it and I always net head first.  They can't go backwards. 

That is also roughly where I caught a nice cabby later that day! :banjo:

I will loosen my drag then, I always have it tight and just drag in my fish. A few fish have done some waterskiing around me on the reel in. That's most likely why my hookup broke my line the drag was way too tight. Going at the Nehalem again Friday so I'm hoping that's my day for my first yak salmon, hell first salmon ever.
