Update: Both are now sold. I will update this post if either deal falls through.

My kids are fully capable in our singles now so the trainers have to go.

2 identical setups: Emotion Sparky SOT kayak, Lifetime brand aluminum kayak paddle in matching (kids) size. NWKA price: $60 each setup, or $100 for both. I think they were $140 new, plus paddles. I'm located SE of Portland in the Gladstone/Milwaukie area.

I started my kids on these kayaks when they were 7 years old, and it was a good fit. They are rated for 140 lbs but I think that is unrealistic and I would expect most kids to outgrow these by 100 lbs. They work great as trainers, and they are safe (no deck hardware to tangle on) and stable for the <100 lbs. crowd. Some people online have complained that they don't track well. That's a fair criticism, but I don't see the point; if you want something that tracks like an adult kayak then get them an adult kayak.

They have the usual wear and tear, but everything works and they're ready to use. The paddles are very cheap but have held up fine. They have only been stored indoors or under cover.

For more information, here is the manufacturer's website: http://www.emotionkayaks.com/product/detail/246/sparky-kayaks

PM me if you're interested. I'll list them on CL next week.
