Good that the base stays active.  Bad the process it took.  Next segment of the story will be how much the incoming congress decides to chop from the budget next year.  You think the CG had budget problems before?  They, and the rest of us in the fed gov, anticipate a hell of a lot more cutting.  Everywhere.
