A year ago I installed a Humminbird 597 di HD fish finder on my 13' Revolution.  I finally figured out how to display the trip log, which uses the GPS features of the fish finder to show the distance the fish finder has traveled since the last time the trip log was reset.  So now I know how far I kayaked while fishing during the last year - 251 miles.

Maybe next year I'll try to figure out how far I drive while going fishing.  That number would of course dwarf the kayaking mileage.

I think you've got me beat by 200 miles at least. I do like to check on Google Earth and see how far I've gone when there has been a long day.

I have a Humminbird 768 and record on my desk calendar,  the mileage from each outing as well......since April 29 and as of October 8,  I have covered a total 394 miles in my PA-14.

Since I am interested in the trolling speed and actual average speed for the outing, I reset the trip log memory at the start of my next outing.
Another nice feature is the "track record" and being able to mark a spot to come back to.....the tracks can be erased w/o erasing the marks set into the memory. You can manage the marks to delete any specific one or all of them.

Thank you!  Now I know I only have to paddle 248 more miles to start catching fish...
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.
