Right on way to stick it back to those darn seals! The Suislaw looks like a beautiful river I'll have to checkout sometime next year. Thanks for the great story & pics!

Nice nook! looks like a seal pre-bonked it for you!

great way to look at it!  I got lucky for sure but isn't that usually a big part of fishing?...I think it was Lee Travino that said "The more I practice, the luckier I get"

Saturday Oct18: water level an inch or 2 higher.   :(   I am planning to fish it Sunday just for fun from my PA12, more for SRC than coho.

Siuslaw update-  more fresh chinooks have moved in, my friend got one Friday morning just like mine and Saturday, with much less boat traffic now, we saw mid-teens chinooks being caught below the 101 bridge in the big stretch along the dunes...the coho are not as numerous or quick to bite now but they are still in the lower river...anyone wiling to brave the rain this week would have a decent chance, assuming coho tag space, at one of both species in the river off Florence, from below 101 bridge up to the RR bridge at Cushman (that is where I would focus), also lots of fish spread out up river towards Mapleton, 10 miles or so of river, just a matter of covering enough water to find some up there....

strong winds Sunday but looks like just rain and light winds (at least until late afternoon) on Mon and Tue here....not sure yet about the rest of the week.

I am heading for the dam on Siltcoos river today to get a look at what is going on there, then hopefully fishing some in Siltcoos...cheers, roger
