Not having caught a hen in, well... ever, I'm looking for some eggs.

We're on the south coast - Port Orford area - so we'd need to be relatively close to each other, say from Florence south.

Please PM me if you know where I can beg or buy some skeins.

Be very careful buying eggs. You can only buy from commercial fishermen. Sportmen are not allowed to sell any part of game they harvest

Yes, I do understand that law.  Were I to purchase eggs, I would never discredit NWKA, and would only deal with a licensed bait dealer; and thank you for posting the warning for everyone who might not understand the regulations.  I overlooked doing that, and am glad you caught my omission.

I asked to do this via PM so that anyone generous enough to share eggs wouldn't expose themselves in the forum and be swamped faster than a New York tourist at a Hare Krishna convention.

Finding eggs for sale is pretty tricky ... Right now there aren't a whole lot of options. The caviar guys are paying top dollar for chum eggs so that is all but out of the question. There is some coho fishing still happening on the Columbia, Chehalis and Klikatat that I know of. Your best bet is to find a native fishing camp and try to buy from the fishermen.
Last week when I was helping guys dress fish on the Columbia we were selling coho eggs to Russians at $8.00/lb and they were very happy to get them.
It is tough pickings out there ... Good luck.

Yeah it is tough right now.  It's late in the season to be hunting for eggs but it's still early in the season down here.

If I can catch a hen I'll have the eggs I need to catch a hen to get some eggs...   :)

Good tip about where I might look.  Thanks.

I found some a half-day's drive away.

I'd like to thank everyone who contacted me willing share some eggs.  I hope to meet all of you some day.
