A Dungeness question.

I'm seeing fewer Dungeness in Cresent City at this point in the season than in year's past. How about on the Oregon Coast? Has anyone in Oregon noticed a difference from last year?
My wife just prepared some Chantrelles we picked today with four Dungeness I got today and it was great. So far this year there have been fewer crab but more Chantrelles.

Yeah, when there are fewer crab eating the mushrooms at night when nobody's looking the Chantrelles are much more plentiful.  Seriously, they're forecasting better crabbing this year for the Oregon commercial fleet.  I've not noticed a difference this year.

I didn't get out much this year but when I did drop a trap it was solid.

Crabbing this year seemed it started slower then normal out in the ocean but definitely picked up strong out near PC until it closed Oct 16-Nov30. Tomorrow it opens back up in the ocean. I will be in PC rockfishing and crabbing this Tuesday Dec 2, so Ill let you know how it looks out there. The crab should be big and fat now, but we'll see soon

We were just crabbing on the OR coast a couple weekend ago.  We didn't notice a great difference in numbers but the crab were dispersed in different areas than we were used to seeing.  We pulled our limits but found about half of them were still soft - in November!

Don't you think this should be moved out of the "classifieds" ??

There are less chanterelles than last year. I don't know about crab.
