You could always get dumped off at duncan rock and fish from there.

Before I had a kayak I used to paddle my surfboard out to various inaccessible headlands and rocks to fish for lingcod and rockfish.  Lots of fun but not very efficient.  I think the fun factor would be exponentially greater if I'd been throwing poppers to tuna!
