Hey guys, I opened a Tumblr account at the beginning of the year. I'm going to use that as a way to document my year in kayak fishing. I'll be posting every Tuesday. I'll be sharing tips and tricks on my favorite species, how to videos, trip reports, gear reviews and lots of other things. Check it out if you want.

*I'm having problems linking the report but you can use my url to find my profile.

Sweet! I like the nightmare ending. I've got to get over to the coast for some of that action. Nice fish/points to start the year!

I was using sand shrimp. That seems to be the best bait, I have caught them using pieces of clam. It tends to hold up better.

Really Fun!  ;D   I just caught my first surf perch, but wasn't from a kayak....need to do it from a Yak.  That looks really enjoyable.  Was this right on the bay?

Yeah, it is a lot of fun. Especially on light gear. We were fishing right in the bay. It seems like they are schooling up anywhere with decent structure.

I've always called them Striped Surf Perch. They are super cool looking, especially before you bleed them out.

I hear there are some big ones in Tillamook Bay. I'll need to target them in order to avoid wearing the pink crocs.

Do they even make pink Crocs in your size?

Doesn't really matter because I'm not going to lose.
