That is very helpful I did a ton of research on cheaper suits. And never saw this brand, my old worn out suit my be getting put away. Thanks for sharing.

Just got my Kiwa drysuit in the mail. This is my first drysuit so I don't have much to compare it to. It fits but seems pretty bulky but after I put my jacket and wetsuit booties on, it seemed ok. I had to go with a xxl to get the right foot size and maybe an xl would have been better except they didn't have a size 12 foot in an xl suit. I think the front zipper is going to hang down a little in front and may make pedalling a little awkward though perhaps that is not unique to this suit and seems more like something you have to deal with in a front entry drysuit. I don't know. Overall I have no complaints and I am excited to jump in the water and see how it works. More to follow once I do...

You want a dry suit to fit loosely so there is plenty of room to wear multiple layers of clothing, so you can keep warm in cold weather.  That's one of the beauties of a dry suit - you can stay warm and toasty even if it's snowing, the wind is howling, and there's hunks of ice floating in the water.  Try on the drysuit with about four layers of pile on the top and bottom, and two or three layers of fuzzy socks.  If it still fits loosely with all that clothing under it, perhaps you should move down a size.  But in general, it's way better to have a dry suit which is a bit loose than a dry suit which is a bit tight.

How do the gaskets feel.  Does the neck choke you at all?

Thanks for the tip pmmpete. I bet with layers it will be perfect.

The neck gasket was really tight on my neck. I have a fairly large neck so I will be trimming it a bit. The wrist gaskets were also tight but not bad. I will leave those as is I think.

Do they pressure test suits for micro holes? If so do they also patch it up? I didn't see any info on that from the site

$325 and a free "urination device"... what a deal!
Wow its really on the site. Appreciate the humor but with what its competing against it better hold up. The competitors kokatat can't even hold the abuse that even the weekend warrior puts up but at least their warranty is top notch

Unless i'm misunderstanding you, what the heck are you talking about? Kokatat makes an incredible and incredibly durable product.

If your neck gasket is tight when new, I recommend that you stretch it rather than trim it.  Almost every neck gasket I've ever used was tight when it was new.  Over time, they get looser.  If you trim a neck gasket, you may trim it too much, and it will quickly become leaky and insufficiently tight.  If your neck gasket initially turns your face red and makes your voice squeaky, put a can, a jar, or other cylindrical object into it to stretch it for a couple of days.  Don't trim it, and don't over-stretch it.

Yes they do and that's what I use especially since I live here in Arcata Ca where they make it. But when you put in many days otw using the dry suit your bound to get some holes due to hooks or w/e else or have zipper related problems. That's where kokatats warranty comes through and fixes them no problem. I'm just trying to point out that should you get the mythic dry suit be prepared to have to fix issues  yourself. To me having the pressure test is extremely valuable because it'll find holes you never thought were there in the first place. Its a safety issue because you expect it to work like it should

I bought one as it was in my budget.  I feel it will meet my expectations for keeping me dry.  The free urinal was an oil funnel.  LOL.

Is that funnel actually female friendly, just for the dudes that can't reach out the barn door, or more of a gimmick?    :dontknow:

A funnel is my best friend when I'm out on the water.  The older I get, the more frequently I use it.
