Happy to participate. I still don't get it how some people who own three cameras post up picks of a dry kayak on the yard saying they caught something from the kayak. I look forward to the time when there is some actual verification a fish was caught from the kayak, such as a photo on the shore or on the water. I'm sure to get a lot of blowback but I'm not the only one who sees it. Best of luck to all participants. For the cheaters, you know who you are.

Yeah, because there's no possible way you could cheat then.  ::)

To some degree we all operate on honor when participating in these things. If you're really that paranoid of your fellow NWKAers then I doubt you'll be happy with the challenge anyway. Since they don't announce any prizes and I still haven't seen if they're even doing any prizes for 2014 I think the incentive to cheat is pretty low.

Or if you're trying to call out some particular individual, maybe you should man up and just say it?

For my part, sometimes it's a pain the ass to get an acceptable photo on the water. Sometimes it's a safety concern. Sometimes it would interrupt a hot bite and I'd rather wait. Sometimes I don't have my camera set up. Sometimes my battery dies. One time I caught a decent fish at last light, got the shot in the kayak, and due to the low light the photo wasn't acceptable, and I lost the points.

The point is there are plenty of good reasons for not getting a technical length shot in the kayak, and it wouldn't actually deter anyone who was dead-set on cheating from cheating anyway, so what's your point?

I guess we should all vote on the wet kayak rule in 2016...

Note to self... hit the kayak with the hose a bit before taking my "fish on the kayak" photos in my back yard.

I don't even have a backyard!
Lauren nailed it. Pretty low incentive to cheat without any prizes announced. This was supposed to be fun and a way to get people motivated to target species they weren't likely to consider, all in the name of friendly competition.
I feel like the comment that flared this was directed at me. Maybe I'm wrong? I thought I was being strategic but apparently that will only cause passive aggressive backlash.
Ten Mile Creek is the only system here that runs through the dunes and holds steelhead(as far as I know). I chose not to post pictures that would give away the location. It was a strategic move. Anyone competing in my area would know exactly where I was fishing. I waited a week to post the fish so the water levels would drop and the bite would be less likely to be hot. More strategy. I guess I just outed my not so secret spot, but I had to defend my honor.

Oh yeah, God forbid a kayak dries in the sun. Jesus christ, people. You're sucking the fun out of this.

I'm not comfortable taking out my phone for a picture while I'm on or near the water...

Happy to play again, and support a great cause in HOW. But I'm less interested in chasing high value points fish and more interested in hearing my drag scream. Doubt if I'll post anything but Steel for the next couple of months, it's just too much fun.

Dang man, looks like you've posted ALOT more than Steel:).

I know there's some largemouth heavy hitters out there... any leaderboard updates in the near future? Don't get me wrong, I like being up in the rarefied air with yaktrap and company, but I'm sure I'm not actually in 2nd place anymore...

No time to fish lately and for the next few weeks at least. I expect to slip down the standings as the weather gets better and big fish come in. Upgrades are months away for me.
