Thought about a little flounder action, possible blackmouth if the weather is right, I found A good new hole with a pretty awesome supply of good fighting bycatch.

Never tried PNP from the yak, the tide can get quick there . close to shore though so it might not be to bad . I think the best results are fishing the end of the tide, into the next push. I'll see if I can get out Sunday I may join ya. Its a bear of a trip for me, but I just like fishing.

The wife and I are thinking about hitting up something in area 7 on Sunday. No specific destination yet, and would be open to fishing around Camano or Whidbey Islands.

Camano was the other spot I was considering.  I launch at the state park.  The nice part about that for me is no ferry fees.  That is what I will likely end up doing.  Always up for company.  Cohoman... that any closer for ya?

Have you been out this year in the PNP area? Marking any fish?

I'll be launching from Camano Is State park at sunrise tomorrow AM.  Sunday.

I was at PNP in Nov. before it shut down.  Marked a lot of suspended bait in 120' of water.  Didn't see any fish taken though.

I should be able to make it out, Ive never fished camano before in kayak, Only once at elger bay in powerboat. What are you targeting? Everyone seems to be using hobies so they can troll all day.  Im not setup for trolling No rigger mounted up, I usually just mooch for whatever bites. I probably wont even bring my fish finder. None the less, It will be a good day of fishing

Well.  I have a cut plug mooching rig, DR spoon trolling rig, and Pt Wilson jig rig setup and ready to go... going for blackmouth (but I won't be disappointed if I only go home with some decent sized sand dab..... fish tacos!).  I'm sure I'll use all of them at different times.  So far the DR w/ 8lb ball is just for the exercise:)  The high tide is approx 8:26am.  Figure I'll launch at first light and get on the Elger side of lowell point before that tide gets moving (it can scream through that passage).  Outgoing tide creates an eddy over there and the bait bunches up pretty good... last time out I mostly marked fish in 90'-110' closer to lowell point but didn't catch anything.  locals/creel guy said it had been really slow up there.  Creel reports have had an uptick since then so I have a little bit of hope.  I'll be in the light grey hobie outback... see you at the launch or on the water.
