My old suit is done. So I was looking at mythic suits. My measurements are all wacky with their size chart. My length is for a large, my waist is for a large. my shoe size if for an xxl all my other dimensions are for a large plus. Can I use an xxl? Is it OK to have extra suit? I don't mind a little extra material I want to have room for underlayer.I also don't want to waste 400 bucks on a suit that I cut the gaskets on and then can't return or use. Any input wil be appreciated. Thanks guys!

You should get a dry suit which is big enough so you can layer up plenty of clothing and a couple of pairs of fluffy socks under it, so you can keep warm in lousy weather.  It's been my experience that the dry socks on most models of dry suits are large enough to handle pretty big feet with a couple of layers of socks on top of them, but I don't know how Mythic sizes its dry socks.  If you can't try on a Mythic dry suit in a store, and you don't get any responses on this thread from people who own Mythic dry suits, I'd call the manufacturer to inquire about the size of the dry socks.  Remember, you don't just want to be able to fit your feet and a thin pair of socks in the dry socks.  Because your feet will be wet much of the time when you're kayak fishing, you want to be able to fit a couple pairs of socks under the dry socks without constricting your circulation.

Some dry suits can be repaired.
What brand of dry suit do you have now?

Many manufacturers have a program where they will swap out the booties on a drysuit for a nominal fee (occasionally free). As a big guy with tiny feet this is something I've had to pay attention to! Definitely worth reaching out to the brand to see what they will do

The suit I have now is a crappy onell rear entry. Need help if I use it. I'm done with it.  I should call them up.. So too much suit isn't bad right? Like I said I want to be able to layer up. The biggest boot they show is 12. Which would be OK . I do have battery powered socks lol

pairing a well-matched set of drypants and a drytop is about as as effective as a full drysuit and significantly less expensive, and you'll have a greater range of sizing options since you'll be selecting each separately.

I've done a lot of whitewater kayaking in various dry top/dry pant combinations, including multi-day and multi-week wilderness trips where I wore the same clothing on and off the river, and the combinations worked well.  However, I felt confident that I wasn't going to take a swim.  A dry top/dry pant combination will do a good job of keeping you dry in the rain, and in keeping you dry if you get splashed by waves.  But if you take a swim in a dry top/dry pant combination, you're going to get wet.  So for kayak fishing in cold weather and/or cold water, I'd recommend a full dry suit, not a dry top/dry suit combination.  A full dry suit will keep you completely dry even after a long swim.  I snorkel and speargun for pike in cold water in a full dry suit, spending many hours in the water, and can drive home in the clothing I wear under my dry suit.

could've been the gear? when i first got my dry top/pants combo this summer i went straight to the sound, jumped in and swam around to try it out. I a tiny bit of leakage around my belt area, but that was it. total amount was probably 1/2 cup.

you're right in that a drysuit is definitely the correct option if you're taking long swims and/or can afford it.

I understand your needs now.
I would keep a lookout for a deal on and dry suit that has a lifetime warranty like Stohkquist or Kokata.

I have a Mythic XL, I'm a size 12 and use a 13 boot with them and still have plenty of room.  They have awesome customer service and respond quickly to emails.  Usually it's the owner responding, he can answer just about any questions.

Any suggestions for finding a drysuit that fit a guy that is 6'5" with size 15 flippers?
I've never used a drysuit before, but know finding stuff my size can be a challenge.
Hope I don't have to resort to garbage bags and duct tape... :-)

Kokatat ... there are several guys on here that are 6'7" and fit in them well. I am 6'3" 220 size 14 and I have fit in large and XL suits off the shelf.

Kokatat will swap booties on any of their products for no charge.  They put L-size booties on my M and S-size booties on The Boss' dry pants, fully warranted and guaranteed.  You must order through a dealer (Outdoorplay handled ours).  It took three weeks.  You don't get the Outdoorplay discount and you need to be sure of the sizing because they aren't returnable if the only reason is that they don't fit...
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.
