Woo hoo, I'm out of the AOTY cellar for now...While trolling for steelhead, a massive 12.5" trout committed suicide by burying a couple of hooks deep in its gills. "Table for 2, trout almandine"

Nice Cutthroat.. Just a heads up for further reference.  Trout fishing (on all creeks river etc) north of Neskowin Creek (near town of neskowin a little south of pacific city) is catch and release only for all trout (pg 24 OR regs).  Its a bummer it was hooked deep but the Stater at the ramp would write you a ticket in a heartbeat.  Might not be to sharp to post a pic on the internet either.  When this happens to me I fiqure I just gave an otter or an osprey an easy meal and try to minimize having it happen again.

Ooops, that's true. Even when you goof, you still need to know the rules. I was thinking early chrome and didn't even look at the trout regs. Lucky for me Mr LEO had better things to do.

Thanks for the reminder,
Jay

No worries.. Not faulting you, just didn't want you to get pinched for something you might not be aware of.   Pelagic

I'm sure all of us have unknowingly taken one we shouldn't have at some point.  I fell prey to this when I first started fishing in Washington.
