Hi all and thanks for having me.

So a little about myself.
I've been on the East coast practically my entire life. Grew up near Buffalo, NY, joined the Navy after high school and ended up in Northern VA after seven years.
I've always been big into fishing and for a few years now it's been nothing but kayak fishing. I current'y have a Cuda 14. There's a good mix of fresh lakes, rivers and saltwater bays and inshore to choose from around here and a big kayak angler following which makes meet and greets, plus tournaments pretty exciting. The usual target fish are largemouth, smallmouth, striped bass (what we call Rockfish), speckled trout, red drum and the infamous snakehead.

My wife's from Wenatchee and we've been talking about making the move once we get the chance. The first thing I started thinking about was where I could fish and hunt. Which brought me here. We're thinking somewhere around Olympia because of her job. Spokane may be an option as well or anywhere there's a govt presence.
Anyway, I thought I'd jump on and get to reading so I'm not completely lost on the way it's done in the North West. It kind of sucks leaving everything you know and start over, but at the same time it will be fun learning about new species and ways to fish them. At least I have most of the gear I'll need.

You sound like me! Don't worry, If I could come out to the west coast and start catching lings and salmon and stripers then I'm sure you'll be fine. It's really not all that different.
