Thank you also Mark... I do have a Mirage Drive, so be sure to be careful if I try crossing over... Maybe I'll see some of you out there...

This could be a good backup plan if the weather looks a bit too tough for Westport on the 14th.  I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be in one place or the other on the 14th.  Mark, you still planning an 11am launch from the lighthouse?

Ocean Shores could be a good back-up plan if the weather is nasty. Depending on how nasty of course. And it's a lot flatter on the beach there. After a long day of fishing...pulling my boat back up the beach at Westport has kicked my old ass more than once. Something to think about.

Graham-- we don't launch at the lighthouse. Usually it's right at the Observation Tower at Half Moon Bay. As you drive toward the docks, you take a left  toward Westhaven State Park and the tower will be on the right. Lots of parking there and you won't need a Discover Pass like you do if you park in the state park.

As far as a time to put in---high tide in the morning is at 6:44 at 8.3 feet. Low is at 2:12 in the afternoon at 1.1 feet. Not a huge exchange but the water will be moving. As I said-- I like the tide to be my friend --go out on an out going tide and back in with the tide rather than working against it. That said-- we could launch at any time. and plan to come back in with the in-coming tide in the afternoon. At least that sounds like a plan to me.

I'll be posting up an invite the week before so people can make plans if they want to join in. And we can have a better idea about weather conditions. It's still a little far out for that now.

Sounds like some folks are getting just a little anxious to get out there....hmmm. Anticipation is a killer, eh ?

Yah...tons of deer...and raccoons..

It's a nice little town.  they don't know how to run a city worth a crap. All sorts of crazy taxes and stuff.

I still have a piece of undeveloped property in Ocean Shores somewhere.  Maybe we should convert it into a NWKA campsite..... It isn't worth anything these days.  Westport jetty is just a two mile paddle from the O.S. side....

For small deer in a coastal town I generally go with the .50 BMG.
