For me it is easy! Costal lingcod! I find myself counting down to the Area 4 opener every year but I think I am going to cheat this year and try and fish Area 3 a month earlier.
There is something magical that first trip out in the salt in usually shitty weather targeting one of my favorite fish.

So what season do you guys most look forward to?

In the last couple years it has been salmon off the OR coast. They are just so darn aggressive!

When everything goes right, I love MAY.  I know the question seems geared more towards Species.

I am addicted to Kings.  But a big part of the draw is the size...which we haven't been getting since we have been targeting feeders.  But the magic month of May combines Feeder Kings (Best eating) with Spawner kings (potential world record)  and the ability to add as "bycatch" a 100 pound halibut in shallow water.  Ya gotta love that!!!!

Fall Chinook is my mistress. I think about it every day. Springer fishing is right around the corner and that's going to help get me by until August.

I really just look forward to each and every one of the eight days I get on the water each year.

Anytime I can get on the ocean is a good day for me.  My favorite has been rockfish, ling, and cabbie fishing.  This year I set a goal of catching a salmon from the kayak, but honestly, ocean bottom fishing is my absolute favorite -

Springers!....although I dont know why. 15+ trips last year without a fish in the boat...scenery isn't all that great, although listening to the homeless camps is kinda interesting. Hmmm, maybe fall salmon is my new favorite!

Camping season is coming and that is what I am all about.  Anytime I can get a night or more away from the work life that includes some camping, I'm happy, happy, happy!

Kayak fishing just goes sooo well with camping it's almost criminal.   :police:

But, kayak fishing the ocean with a bunch of buds is what I look forward to.

Halibut with tuna trailing by a hair for most anticipated.

Obviously it's all good here in the NW, though I haven't caught a salmon yet. I probably need to go on some charters lol

Fall salmon definitely. Close behind is ocean salmon. I love dropping the crab pot, trolling for salmon then, on the way back, jigging up some lings and cabbies.
