Hello All,

I am getting my first kayak in the next two weeks. Looking at a Hobie Outback. Just waiting for some funding to come through. I have bank fished the Willamette, Clackamas, and Columbia for years but never from any kind of boat or kayak.

Just tired of wanting to get to the other side of the river and can't because it's private property. I love to fish for salmon and steelhead. I do fish for sturgeon and shad occasionally. I also want to get into fishing the coastal rivers and bays - oh and crabbing, rockfish, and saltwater anything. OH yea.. AND Kokanee fishing, too.

So much to learn and so little time. Usually, I can get away on the weekends. If anyone doesn't mind a tag along, I would love to learn just about any fishery.

I have an Subaru Forrester with a kayak J rack on it and a spare rack I can put on to carry two kayaks if needed. It also has a hitch on it. Just sayin...

Welcome.  I've been here less than a year, and I've picked up a wealth of info from these guys.  And I'm just scratching the surface.

Where do you hail from?
