Hey, I recently purchased the surf to summit 43in insulated fish bag for my new revo 13 and was wondering how anyone who is using a catch cooler mounts them to the bow? I've been trying to find solutions through the search but not really finding much. The only thing I can think is to make another bungee system on the bow and use that? I think I ran into that somewhere but couldn't find it after. I want it sturdy and not able to slide much but also removable. Any help is great! Thanks!

On a recent outing I put my catch bag on the bow of my Revo11 (secured by bungees and a drybag style clip at the mouth of the bag).  I am still tweaking my setup for kayaking, but realized quickly I don't want my catch bag on the bow.  If I did catch a fish and wanted to stuff it in there, it would be a PITA to access it, then reattach to make it secure.  I prefer putting the bag behind me...or just not catching fish, that works for me too.

I used to run that bag on a revo 13 bow. I used a piece of bungee through the rope handle to the clips at the narrow end, and the wide ends clips to the hatch bungee. This held plenty secure even with limits of salmon. The problem was what a bag of ice and  30+ lbs of salmon did to the boats CG. In calm waters it just felt kinda goofy. With wind chop and waves it was a challenge to keep upright. Plus the smallish opening at one end can make loading big slippery fish risky. If you drop it there's nothing to catch your kill and  it'll go overboard. Storing it either inside the hull, or the tankwell all but eliminate these problems.

I have that bag and used it on the bow of my scupper pro. One caribiner to the bow handle and two cords attached taught to eyelets near my feet. You can see it in my avatar. I scoot up to load and unload and use a little blue ice to cool. Also keep my herring there near the lid. I'm moving it to the stern well on the new boat mostly because I don't want to look at it. I have to admit that it is empty most of the time, but nice to know my catch is cool when it happens.

Thanks for the replies! Really helps. I want to try the bow first so i can keep my crate behind me. I'll probably mount it with a bungee system and drill a few holes.  If I don't like it I'll change it later.

I have an IceMule catch cooler that is truly awesome,  The opening is on the end, and along the sides are several D-rings.  I have bungees and carabineers on each and clip them to the plastic eyes I have bolted along the top sides of  my outback in the front, with no issues.  I've had three fall Chinook in there, 2 were little Cos's and one mine, and my bow was still riding fine.

Instead of using a bag of ice, I throw in 3-4 frozen water bottles as they seem to last longer for me, and by the end of the day, the fish and ice are still cold.
