New to kayak fishing

My wife and I are just starting out in kayak fishing. Still checking out kayaks. And boy that's a job. We live in Cannon Beach. So will be spending most of our time in Nehalem bay. We're in our 60's and looking forward to get out on the water. Still surf. Looking forward to seeing some of you on the water.
