Just ordered my Propel and its supposed to arrive by the 1st of next month and I've already ordered a Garmin 42Dv, flush mounts for the back, scotty gear track adapters, and a GoPro mount.  I got bored at work and made a sketch of the area I want to mount things and would love some feedback from other Propel owners.  Also I plan on placing some PlexiGlass sheets on stainless hinges over the storage areas to keep rain/splash out and keep fish in, shouldn't be hard to keep them fairly waterproof with a little self adhering weather stripping an bungie clips.

Interesting idea about the plexiglass lids. Why are you wanting to keep rain out of your tankwell? With scuppers in each well they will drain and can also get water coming up from below. Creating dry areas on top of a SOT kayak is a pretty tall order.
Also, what is your plan for tackle storage. Most guys run a milk crate or tackle box of some type.

I think if you put a fairly tight fitting plexaglass lid over the well and toss some fish or bait in there on a sunny day you will have half cooked fish when you get home, it can get pretty warm, something to think about...warf

Sweet!  Are you right or left handed?

I'm left handed and prefer to fight a fish on the right side of my kayak.  I like the raised rod holder on the left side of the yak with the pole pointing to the right at a 90 degree.

I will have the scuppers all plugged when doing a calm surf launch and I will adjust accordingly if its ruff.  If I catch fish I will leave the back scuppers out to allow cold water on the fish and they won't be able to jump out.  As for storage I don't bring too much gear and the few boxes I do have will fit under the seat or in the small pod ahead of the Porpel unit and anything bigger will fit in the front pod.  I already have the materials laying around so its worth a try.

Yeah, the propel fleet is growing. I put My FF on the drive unit on a ram ball screwed in the handy camera thread, I have a Elite 4 and it fits there well. I have a Kayak cooler bag with pole holders in the back area. I run my transducer in the scupper hole in the front compartment with drainage, the first time I took the yak out I caught a wave wrong and the filled the front compartment and it was tough to make way until I got far enough out of the surf to pull the plug.  With all those slide rails I have all kind of gadgets plugged in as needed. No kayak is perfect but I sure like mine.

okie dokie.  You've thought of it. I'm right handed. Rod holder is on the right.  The only drawback to my set up is I use right handed reels so the handle is on the far side making adjustments a pain.

I like to fight fish to my left side. I net my fish on the left side.   I boca grip on both sides.  I harpoon from the right side.

One of the first things I have to do when I hook up to a big butt is to detach my rod holder.  Its kinda of a pain but fortunately big butts don't happen all the time.

I'll be curious to see how your "lids" work and how ya like them.

Yea when you asked me that I wasn't thinking in fishing terms, I am left handed but I fish right hand. So I guess I get lucky with the reel hand situation.

As for the lids like I said I just have an idea and some extra crap laying around so we'll see what happens.

Yea that's why I said it really depends on the situation,  if it's breaking waves I'm gonna pull the plugs. Fishing in Hawaii for 3 years taught me that real quick haha.
