Hello All,

I've been in touch with Canada's premier saltwater fisherman (that being Snag-a-butt) and we're calling on a last minute "hook-up", and likely last trip of the season for a lot of us.  Nothing special, nothing formal.  We happened to both have some free time this upcoming weekend and decided that it'd sure be cool to gather together at my own and Snag's all time favorite fishing spot... good old Sombrio beach.

For those of you that don't know, it's about 40 miles west of Victoria on Vancouver Island, maybe 10 miles east from Port Renfrew.  It's nearly straight across the Straight (no pun intended) from Neah Bay and it's one of the most productive, but still easily accessible kelp beds that I know of in the whole Northwest.  So far, I'm the only yank who's going up, and so I'm wide open to any car pooling that might be out there.  My plan as it stands is to leave work at about 1:00 and then race to Tswassen where I'll catch the ferry to Sidney (or is it Swartz Bay?) and stay the night in Victoria.  Then head to the beach as early as we can get ourselves to do it on Sat, returning to Victoria Sun night and then catch the Coho back to our side on Sun morning.

If anybody else is interested at all in this one, I'm sure we can make the part where we stay in Victoria either very cheap or free, maybe by camping just outside of Victoria.  Or I know a guy who has a luxury condo that overlooks the waterfront right on Dallas street... he might let us stay on his floor if we can get him liquored up good first.

As always, the big lings (okay.. 5 to 15 lb) and nice sea bass are nearly guaranteed.  Sorry for this one last indulgence for the season.  I just can't seem to get enough of that place.

If at first you don't succeed....  maybe skydiving is just not for you.

I've thought this through from every angle I can think of and there is just no way I can make this trip, much to my dismay.  Go gettem guys ... and if the weather holds, you might want to troll out wide for some late season silvers.

Yes folks, I have all of about 500 sq ft but that's room for a lot of foamy"s and it is a "room with a view" Try and hook up with Fishin-T and get up here.

Your right Allen, there might be som salmon hangin around. I think I might troll a little bit.

Weather looks good, Lingzilla awaits  ;D

Cheers

Yes we did make it. Tom brought his workmate Aaron and I brought a friend as well.

The weather was fine on the saturday but poured rain on Sunday. Sunday was tough fishin but we did manage some small bass and a tasty little Quillback....yummy!

Didn't take many pix but here is Fishin T and Aaron
